With the escalating threat of the global pandemic, the fashion industry faced numerous unforeseen disruptions last year. One of the unfortunate consequences was the postponement of what arguably holds as “fashion’s biggest night out”: the Met Gala.
Although this annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum normally takes place in May, these special circumstances led to a delay to September. This year’s theme centered on American fashion, being titled “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” With even higher anticipation surrounding the already highly popularized event, celebrities strutting the red carpet to attend the exhibit were ready to serve looks.

With her Marilyn-Monroe-inspired blonde bob and her peach-colored gown that extended to 15 feet, Billie Eilish appeared as though she had quite literally stepped out of a princess movie. She exuded glamour, elegance, and perhaps most importantly, absolute confidence while doing so.
ASAP Rocky and Rihanna
If any couple were to be awarded for the coziest outfit, it would most certainly have been this formidable duo. Making their first official public debut together, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky made sure to deliver a fashion statement in the process. Rocky wore a colorful patchwork blanket (but later revealed a sleek black suit underneath) and Rihanna wore an oversized black gown that perfectly matched her sultry makeup.
Lil Nas X
Considering the history of bold, creative decisions in his work, it should come as no surprise that Lil Nas X, once again, impressed the audience by successfully accomplishing a 3-in-1 Met Gala outfit. Starting off with a lavish golden cape, he stripped to display golden star-trooper suit of armor with a built-in six pack. Finally, he topped off the look with a metallic bodysuit.
