Upon first seeing Jean Michael Othoniel’s glass sculptures, I was mesmerized by the power that such a simple material could hold. At first, his sculptures may just seem like an abstract combination of different colored glass beads. However, the more time one spends observing his work, the clarity of the glass, the iridescence, as well as the reflection of oneself on the glass gives his work almost a hypnotizing nature. Just like Othoniel’s work, I was inspired to create a makeup look that used minimal color and focused more on creating a glass-like, clean look on the skin, utilizing natural highlights and iridescent glitter.
