What the new eye shadow palette will be about.
As the strong snowstorm moving southward to Philly, turning into rain, winter in Philadelphia is losing its strength as March and April awaits. However, for fans of Game of Thrones, the true “winter” does not arrive until April 14, the premiere of the last season of the popular TV fantasy series Game of Thrones. To prepare for the dropping of Season 8, Game of Thrones has collaborated with brands in multiple industries in the past few months, and this month, it will be featured on an Urban Decay palette.
The first major collaboration of Game of Thrones was with Adidas UltraBOOST, the squishy and comfortable running and walking shoes that have attracted faithful fans worldwide. The collaboration is themed on the major forces in the fantasy world–the Targaryens, Lannisters, Starks, the Night’s Watch, and the White Walkers.
Another collaboration, alluding to the resonance of brand name, is with Johnnie Walker. The collaboration launches a new limited edition whiskey called “The White Walker by Johnnie Walker.” The sleek bottle has the icy pattern that reminds us of the cold chill preceding and following the steps of the White Walkers. The blend of caramelized sugar, vanilla, orchard fruit and red berries gives the fresh taste.
It was not just shoes or whiskey, but also games. Reign, a swiping card game launched its Game of Throne edition to let players choose their life and death in the world of Game of Thrones. The Targaryens or the Lannisters? Your choice.
If the collaborations were not fun enough for fans of both fashion and Game of Thrones, the new collab with Urban Decay should give quite a thrill. Two posts on Feb. 22 and one on Mar. 1 revealed the collaboration. It is still uncertain when the collaboration will reveal itself. However, we can still make our guesses from the makeup and color palettes. The palette(s) will have a cold, bright, very shimmery, blue, a matte turquoise, and a light silver as the highlighting color. In addition to this, there will also be the classic bronze or earthy tones that are applicable to almost all occasions, whether that be work, school, or a night-out; rather of a surprise because the colors do not correspond to the theme of Game of Thrones. The Urban Decay x Game of Thrones palette(s) includes purple in two shades: one light and cold, the other deep and warm.
From the quality of previous Urban Decay palettes like NAKED, we should have enough confidence in the quality of the eye shadow. In addition to this, a palette that has blue, red, and purple tones would be a very versatile and a creative palette to play with. At a good price, what else can we expect other than clicking that order button as soon as it is released?
