Springtime Street Style: London Edition

A list of 10 trends inspired by London Fashion Week street style.

Living in London has opened my eyes to the world of international fashion. This thriving cosmopolitan city offers the most extravagant trends in the fashion game, and sets the style pace for the rest of the world. Italian designer Valentino Garavani once said, “for those who wanted to talk about fashion, it was London that spoke the loudest.”  To this day, Garavani’s words still ring true. In order to give you a taste of the upcoming trends you’ll soon be seeing this spring, I’ve pieced together some of my favorite London looks, inspired by a series of outfits photographed at one of the most iconic events of the year—London Fashion Week.

Shades of green: lime, emerald and mint

Green is the ultimate color that welcomes the season of blossoms and showers. So seeing as though the first day of spring is upon us, it comes as no surprise that shades of emerald, lime and mint have been spotted all throughout the city.

Embellished barrettes

Accessorizing doesn’t have to end with earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Snapping a few cute statement clips into your hair is the perfect way to glamorize your look.

Casual and classy combo

Rocking a pair of white trainers, along with a business suit or trench coat, sends the message  that comfort and style can fit in the same category. Throw on a pair of sunglasses to really give off that, “I’m unbothered and effortlessly cool” vibe.

Lavender smells good, but looks even better

This color has been popping up everywhere like flowers after a springtime shower. If you’re in need of adding a touch vibrancy to your look, lavender is your new best friend.

The monochrome suit

The chic monochrome suit style has always been fashionable, and during this season red and beige are taking over.

Goodbye mini skirts, hello maxi skirts

Make room in your closet, because it’s time to embrace the long lengthy look and leave mini skirts for summertime. Match a flowy skirt with a pair of chunky sneakers for a casual and comfy fit.

Pretty in pink

On Wednesdays we wear pink, but in London pink makes its mark on the streets every day of the week.

Each spring season, floral dresses tend to make an appearance. This time, we’re seeing sheer fabrics matched with collared jackets.
