Men’s Fashion Month just wrapped up the last of its Fall/Winter shows at NYFW this past week. You may have missed it, but fortunately The WALK has you covered with some of the most noteworthy looks and styles from the shows.

Coats
Let’s start off with the reason why fall and winter are the best seasons for fashion, the coats and outerwear! I love a stylish, yet edgy coat that not only adds life to an outfit, but can also tie it all together to create a perfectly polished look.

Caps
Hats don’t have the best reputation in men’s fashion, as the great Cher Horowitz once said: “it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair–ew–and cover it up with a backwards cap”. But these hats, paired with the right outfit, make a casual look appear fashion–forward.

Street Wear
For street wear, at NYFW we saw everything from the revitalization of western cowboy-esque fashion from Dsquared², classic looks from Dior, ’80s style streetwear from Carlos Campos, to ambiguously politically charged looks from Balmain.

Evening Wear
And finally, one of my favorite styles, evening wear, because who doesn’t absolutely swoon over a man wearing a well-tailored suit or tuxedo! This season’s looks were strong and elegant, with hints of trends like velvet.

One major highlight this season, not surprisingly, were the models–however, not for the reasons you might think. In most recent years, the runway of a fashion show has given designers and creative directors a chance to speak their mind on current events, eloquently bringing politically charged messages into their clothes. This year seemed a little quieter compared to other recent years, except for one aspect in particular: the casting of the models. There was more casting of LGBTQIA+ models in many shows, including an undeniably cute 10-year-old self-proclaimed “drag kid,” Desmond Napoles.
