ften times, eating healthy and working out routinely can seem difficult and daunting.  However, this does not have to be the case! It is important to remember that although the college lifestyle can be extremely hectic and overwhelming, taking care of yourself should always remain at the top of your to do list.  So, in order to help you embark on a new journey towards a healthy lifestyle, I’ve listed a few suggestions!

Choosing to eat a clean diet is extremely beneficial to your overall health and well being. For those of you who live off campus with your own kitchen, meal preps will definitely become your new best friend. On the other hand, if you are living on campus and surviving off of dining hall food, it is essential to make healthy meal choices (which I know is obviously easier said than done).  Keep in mind that although this can be a hard task, your body will feel so much better if you remain strong and steer clear of processed foods!  Also an important thing to note is that healthy does not mean eating less- it means choosing foods that are unprocessed, rich in natural ingredients and full of fundamental nutrients.

In addition to eating nutrient packed meals, remaining fit is also a necessary component of living a healthy lifestyle.  There are countless benefits to working out, some of which include reducing health-related issues, maintaining physical strength and relieving stress.  Especially for college students, discovering a weekly workout routine is important because engaging in exercise will help to remove your mind from the hectic lifestyle of college craziness.  If you don’t have a lot of time on your hands, try high intensity interval training! These exercises are great because they help you to burn calories in a short period of time (and you can even try these workouts in your dorm room). One last important tip is to remain consistent and confident! These two traits are so crucial in terms of helping you to set goals for maintaining your health and well being.
