f you’re anything like me, you may enjoy the natural, dewy looks summer has to offer, but you really can’t wait for the time to pass until fall, the season of serving looks, finally arrives! For three months of the year, you don’t have to worry about the heat melting your makeup or allergies making eye make up impossible.
Sweater weather has a lot to offer in terms of fashion and beauty, but personally what I look forward to most are the lip colors. While I am a huge proponent of the bright pinks, barely there nudes, and reflective glosses, there is nothing I love more than the bold, warm-toned mattes fall encourages. Below I have included five lip colors that I grab as soon as I see the leaves change and cover Locust.
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick- Trendsetter
This is one of my favorite lip colors of all time not only because of its warm, orangish brown color, but also because of its formula. Huda Beauty carries one of the most comfortable matte liquid lipstick formulas I have ever tried. It has a subtle vanilla scent and is lightweight, making it easy for all-day wear.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – L.U.V.
L.U.V. is definitely a color I pull out when I really want my lips to pop. A rich violet hue is always in my fall lipstick rotation, and it’s what I gravitate towards to add some color when I have a more natural face and eye look. This formula is also long-wearing and not too drying, making it comfortable to wear throughout the day without touch-ups.
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip – Tulle
You cannot have a fall lip collection without a nice mauve. The formula is not my favorite because it can be quite drying on the lips. Colourpop as a brand knows how to make sure the price is right with the lipstick costing just $6, so I continue to purchase. As long as you exfoliate and moisturize before applying you should not have any problems rocking this shade.
ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip – Avenue
Each season has its claim to its own shade of red. For fall, I learn towards a more deep wine red and Avenue is just that! Again the formula is not my favorite, but the price, longevity, and pigment make it worth it.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Plath
Plath is the first color that comes to my mind when I think of fall. Again the formula is remarkable and a rusty red color is my go-to. The applicator allows an easy and clean application, making a liner optional.
