3976737664_55e30d53d1_z Mitchell Drop Cap 1his has happened to everyone. You get your baggage ready, remember all the essentials, freak out about leaving something behind, and then leave for the airport. However, we have all spent time thinking if we should put effort into our clothing for the airport or if we should just abandon all style we have for comfortability. We weigh the pros and cons–PRO: If you dress comfy, you’ll sleep better and be more relaxed. CON: What if you sit next to a cute boy/girl? PRO: You’ll be warm on that cold airplane you’re about to board. CON: When you land and leave the airport the public will see how little effort you put into your outfit. The list goes on and on. I’m here to give you the 3 types of airport fashion I see, and how they all can be great styles for you!

The Comfortable Traveler

The first is a picture of Charlie XCX wearing an Adidas track jacket and some leggings with activewear shoes on. This is the “Comfortable Traveler.” They like to wear relaxed clothing, such as athletic gear, sweatpants, sweaters, jackets, cardigans, etc. Being comfortable on a place is way more important than impressing anyone. Those hours on the plane will go by in a breeze, since you will be most likely sleeping the entire time. You seem smart and cool for just sticking to a casual look and maybe you might fool some people into thinking you’re super athletic!

The Glamorous Traveler

As can you can see, Kim Kardashian has worn a body con two-piece and heels to the airport. This takes a special person to pull off–if it were up to me, I could never wear heels to the airport! This person dresses to impress, is a style icon, and knows to keep up her appearance anywhere she goes. She’s going to turn heads, some in awe and some in disbelief, but she will be the center of attention nonetheless. Look good, feel good (or pain is beauty!) is your motto and when you step out of that airport, you are ready to start slaying the day away.

The white t-shirt and jeans show a casual side, while the long black trench coat adds a level of sophistication and style that balances this whole look out. You have both the Pros and Cons of the other two looks, maintaining your style with a bit of comfort. You might just put a little effort in this outfit before leaving your house, but you can easily hop off your plane and go off to start the day. It all depends on what you’re comfortable with!

You can go with any look you desire! As you start thinking about heading home from Penn, you may start thinking about what style you’ll decide to wear when traveling. The decision may depend on number of hours, how much time you have to get ready before, or even what clothes you have that aren’t dirty! One thing is for sure: don’t let your style suffer just because you don’t want to put effort in! Dress how you want to dress and have a safe trip home!
