t’s 2016, and CoverGirl has found a new face to represent its makeup empire. In the past, the brand has always aimed for spokespeople with easy, breezy and beautiful qualities – this time, they found these qualities in a boy.
Last week, CoverGirl officially announced its first-ever male face, and people can not stop talking about it. His name is James Charles, and he is just 17-years old, from Bethlehem, New York. James first gained recognition after tweeting a picture of his senior portraits, which eventually went viral. After ]falling in love with his highlight, it did not take for people to fall in love with him.
Fame and recognition soon followed, as the world subscribed, followed, and shared his videos and photos from his Youtube, Twitter and Instagram accounts – all under @jcharlesbeauty. James’ following has since grown to exceed 1,000,000 across his various social media accounts, and is still on the rise.
Together, James and CoverGirl have made history, illustrating that makeup belongs to everyone – and that anyone can be easy, breezy, and beautiful.
