The sun is out, the birds are chirping and Penn Fashion Week is here.
Bravo to the Penn Fashion Collective for successfully making not only this Monday, but the rest of this week, 100% better than the rest. This year celebrates the 10 year anniversary of Penn Fashion Week, and as a result, the Collective has decided to treat us by taking us through all aspects of fashion from head to toe.
That being said, it was more than appropriate for the top of the week to begin with the top of any look: Makeup. Wendy Widman, Senior Manager of Global Marketing at NARS Cosmetics, opened up the week’s beauty event with a brief presentation on the excitement of working within our nation’s $16 billion beauty industry. After a Q&A session that followed Widman’s presentation, the night was continued with makeup tutorials that featured NARS cosmetics. Guests had the opportunity to learn different techniques for applying the NARS products with the help of the beauty stylists of the The WALK Magazine. The stylists put together various looks that ranged from day wear to night wear and explained how to achieve them step by step.
With the beauty event coming to an end, day one of Penn Fashion Week has already come and gone. However, the week is just getting started. So finish your lab, reschedule that meeting and put off laundry for yet another day, because you won’t want to miss any of the upcoming events this week.
