Being a fashionista on a college budget isn’t the most ideal of circumstances. Seriously, who wouldn’t love to go shopping without looking at the price tag? As a college student, this isn’t a practical reality. In fact, it seems that the price tag matters more now than ever before. To help keep you looking trendy, we compiled a list of stores that offer student discounts, so that neither your outfit nor your bank account will have to take one for the team.
1. Ann Taylor LOFT (and Ann Taylor)
Headed to an internship interview anytime soon? Ann Taylor LOFT has the perfect assortment for anything from business casual to business formal. Located right near campus on 36th and Walnut, enjoy 15% off full priced items. For even more sophisticated attire, enjoy 20% off full priced items at Ann Taylor.
2. Banana Republic
If you’ve always liked their classic and relaxed style, you can enjoy 15% off full priced items by showing your Penn ID.
3. J.Crew (and Madewell)
J. Crew is essential for classic clothing and basic staples. While the discount cannot be combined with items on sale, you can still enjoy 15% off full priced items. College students also enjoy the same discount at Madewell, its partner store.
4. Juicy Couture
Enjoy 15% off full-priced items simply because you are in college! If you’re looking for a new perfume, try Viva La Juicy or Better Luck With Juicy.
Topshop has a great mix of designer and non-designer clothing, all at 10% off for students. This discount definitely comes in handy for those who want to stay up to date with trends. Sadly, Topshop doesn’t allow student accounts online in the US, so the discount can only be used in store.
A bonus tip is to watch out for special promos from stores that don’t normally accept student discounts. This past week H&M had a student discount promotion for those that showed the sales clerk the email promo. While you always carry your Penn ID around on campus, it is just as important to carry it to the mall. Stores like Rag & Bone offer student discounts at specific stores located near college campuses- at their Newbury Street location, you can score 15% off! Just remember, flashing your Penn ID on the checkout line might just be your key to student-discount heaven.
