“Girl, You’re my Angel”

Everyone was glued to the TV this past Tuesday night as the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2012 aired at 9pm on CBS. Each year, planning the show takes an entire year, culminating in just a one-hour airing in December. The show was bigger and better than ever before, split up into six segments and starring beautiful models clad in intricate signature wings, stomping to the tunes of big music stars. This year’s show featured world-renowned models such as Alessandra Ambrosio and Adrianna Lima who shared the stage with Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and Justin Beiber.

Adriana Lima as ringmaster in “Sexy Circus.”

The show began with “Sexy Circus,” with girls dressed accordingly as lion tamers and acrobats. Performers on mini segways added to the lighthearted feel. The highlight of this collection was Adriana Lima’s ringmaster costume, finished with a top hat and matching high-heeled suede black boots.

“Pink Ball” and “Silver Screen Angels” were two segments that weren’t to be missed. Both Doutzen Kroes and Joan Smalls starred in those segments, models who are also regularly featured in high-end editorials for Vogue and W Magazine.

Lindsey Ellingson and Isabel Goulart in the collection entitled “Calendar Girls”.

After Rihanna’s performance in “Dangerous Liasons,” the show continued with “Calendar Girls” alongside Bruno Mars. May, worn by Lindsey Ellingson, and September, worn by Isabel Goulart, were highlights of the segment – Lindsey and Isabel’s outfits were not only extravagant, but also vivacious.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show met our high expectations. Not only do the producers, models, creative directors, and designers come together to produce a must-see, but they also make scantily-clad models appeal to both men and women. A job well done! Until next December…
