How to Brave the Cold in Style

As winter rolls in,  it’s time to break out the necessities: chunky knits. Whether it’s grandma’s homemade knit scarf, or a heavy sweater that, no matter how ratty, makes you feel like it’s Christmas morning by the fire, knits are in.  Leggings coupled with your favorite knit will keep you cozy in class and when you stroll downtown for your “getting-off-campus” fix.

Keep it comfy-chic by pairing a chunky knit with black leggings and combat boots. Pleather leggings are a great alternative to the basic black legging, offsetting the chunky knit top with an edgier bottom. Brighter colored shoes contrast with the rest of your outfit for an interesting casual look.

Pair a flowy dress with black tights and a chunky knit, and you won’t have to pack it away for the winter! We recommend pairing the outfit with a bootie to make it universally wearable, perfect for class or a night out.

Whether you’re layering them over dresses or pairing them with your favorite pair of blue jeans, chunky knits are a must-have for the Philadelphia college student.
