If you haven’t made the connection between the time of year and the pink, light-up ribbons strung on the sides of Greek houses along Locust Walk, October marks Breast Cancer Awareness month. Yesterday, we rounded up some of our favorite products that support Breast Cancer Awareness, and now we’re back with an extensive list of beauty products. To combat this fatal disease, we’ve highlighted our favorite pink products that donate at least 15% of proceeds to breast cancer charities this month. From candles to nail varnish, these are some easy ways to think pink, give back, and feel good while you’re at it.
Eau Rose Roll-on Fragrance, $48 at Diptyque
1. Eau Rose Roll-on Fragrance: This month exclusively, Diptyque has partnered with The Pink Agenda, a not-for-profit organization committed to raising money for breast cancer care to expedite the search for a cure. The Eau Rose Roll-on Fragrance offers the beautiful scent of a rose freshly-picked from a Parisian garden, with strong notes of citrus and black currant and a subdued honey musk note. 20 percent of all proceeds of the fragrance will be donated to The Pink Agenda during the month of October.
Bougie De La Vie Candle, $19.95 at Archipelago
2. Bougie De La Vie Candle: Archipelago meshes jasmine, hydrangeas, and a clean scent of freshly-cut grass to create this special candle. The delicious product, whose title translates to “Candle of Life,” holds true to its name: 50 percent of all proceeds from this collection will be donated to Breast Cancer Angels to provide support to underprivileged cancer patients. With a burn life of sixty hours, this affordable scent will linger a sweet floral fragrance, and whenever you take a whiff, you’ll be reminded that your purchase is helping one of 250,000 women affected by breast cancer annually.
Shiseido’s “Power of Pink” Lacquer Rouge, $25 at Macy’s
3. “Power of Pink” Lacquer Rouge: For every purchase of this lacquer in RS404 Disco, Shiseido will donate $5 to Cosmetic Executive Women’s (CEW) Cancer and Careers. It’s a bold fuchsia shade which leaves the lips as smooth as, well, lacquer. And given that the last four characters of the Japanese translation of shiseido translate to “Praise the virtues of the great Earth, which nurtures new life and brings forth new values,” it’s no surprise that the company has taken great strides to contribute to breast cancer awareness this month.
Clinique’s Chubby Stick Set, $16 at Blue Mercury
4. Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm: To heighten breast cancer awareness, Clinique recreated its number-one selling lip product in a limited-edition Plumped Up Pink shade. Sold in conjunction with a pink ribbon zipper pull cosmetic pouch, this lip crayon offers a gentle flash of color, with the convenience of on-the-go touch ups. Until November 15, $3 of each purchase of this product will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, so grab your wallet and get rosy with this exclusive Clinique set.
“Provocative” Nail Varnish, $14 at Dermelect
5. Dermelect’s ME Peptide-Infused Nail Treatment: This nail treatment is a win-win: the polish contains a pure protein peptide extracted from New Zealand’s sheep’s wool and, this month, 30 percent of proceeds from the pink “Provocative” shade will be donated to Cancer and Career. This “fabulously fresh fuchsia” color is not only DBP, Toulene, and Formaldehyde free, but is also cruelty-free. With a color that complements all skin tones, this quick-drying nail polish will definitely grab attention.
Bobbi Brown’s Illuminating Bronzer and Brush Set, $45 at Blue Mercury
6. Illuminating Bronzer and Brush Set: For every sale of this set, Bobbi Brown will be donating $10 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. In a soft shade of Pink Peony, the sheer powder and micro-pearls gives the skin a natural glow. The mirrored compact, which comes with a Mini Face Blender brush, offers the classic black-and-white packaging with a pink handle that adds a feminine twist to the otherwise monochromatic aesthetic. Treat yourself to a set before the month’s over; it’s a simple way to enhance your beauty while lending your support to breast cancer awareness.
