For a Halloween That Screams Fashion: 4 Simple Costume Ideas

Our long-awaited Fall Break is just about over. But don’t despair – with the end of October comes Halloween. Halloween is one of the best nights of the year (or, at Penn, four nights in a row). We love geting dressed up with friends and celebrating the holiday in fashion. If you want to look stylish even in costume, here are some great ideas to have an edgy Halloween.

1. Black Cat: Throw on a black dress, cat ears and a killer pair of pumps for a simple, cute costume. (From top to bottom: Cat Ears, $6 at Carter’sBlack Dress, $70 at Barneys New YorkBlack Pumps, $640 at StyleBop.)

2. Ballerina: Channel your inner five-year-old self and dress like a ballerina for the night! Grab a white tank top, tutu and ballet slippers (and a tiara if you’re feeling royal). If you want to go Black Swan status, try adding some crazy, daring eye makeup. (From top to bottom: Tiara, $89 at DebenHamsTank Top, $9 at John LewisTutu, $13 at TargetBallet Slippers, $36 at Republic.)

3. Skeleton: This classic Halloween costume just got fashionable – be a stylish skeleton for the night. Head to TopShop for these cool skeleton leggings and skeleton sweatshirt. Check out Hot Topic for skeleton jewelry as well. (From top to bottom: Necklace, $14.50 at Hot TopicSweatshirt, $44 at TopShopLeggings, $56 at Topshop.)

4. 80’s Girl: Be a Material Girl and wear a crop top, colorful leggings and leg warmers for this look. Grab a scrunchie and a pearl necklace and you are ready to go! (From top to bottom: Scrunchie, $12 at EtsyTank top, $16 at HollisterLeggings, $32 at American Apparel.)

Happy Halloween! We can’t wait to see how you turn the festivities into a weekend of daring fashion.
