An Event You Won’t Want to Miss: Penn Fashion’s Night Out

NSO is here! If you’re an upperclassman, you are most likely being bombarded with event invitations on Facebook and RSVP-ing without even thinking. And if you’re a freshman, you have enough flyers slipped under your door to cover an entire Hill dorm room (not that that’s saying much). There is, however, one event that you really shouldn’t miss: Penn’s Fashion Night Out hosted by Dzine2Show this Saturday, September 1st at 11pm in Wynn Commons. Here’s what you can expect.

Cupcake decorating

Decorating cupcakes is an art form. From adding swirls to bubble-lettered words, the possibilities are endless. Be adventurous with your design – worst case scenario is that you mess up and eat the evidence!

DIY Braided Bracelets

Although the fall school semester is about to begin, summer is not over  yet. Use this arts and crafts inspired fashion piece to hold on to the summer atmosphere and reminisce about the old days at camp. Layer the bracelets for a Bohemian look, or give one to a friend as the perfect gift. Look to Chan Luu and Aurelie Bidermann for inspiration:

DIY Beaded Crystal Headband

Wearing a crystal headband, like the one pictured below, is an easy way to transform your NSO frat party outfit to give it a little extra sparkle!

DIY Tote Bags

Take advantage of this activity to create the perfect bag to carry your books to and from class. When it comes to designing totes, anything goes. Here are some ideas to start you off from Topshop, Lazy Oaf, and Marc by Marc Jacobs.

After you have finished designing your new accessories, stop off at the makeup station with hair stylists from the Studio CL and student makeup artists before showing it all off in front of the camera with friends. You’ll leave this late-night with enough memories and souvenirs to make up for the memory loss you experience other nights of NSO.
