Tired of your usual workout routine at Pottruck? Getting ready to relax and celebrate the end of the summer at a getaway tropical resort? This week, The WALK brings you a fresh, new fitness alternative. We recommend throwing in a few classes at Lithe Philadelphia to add an extra flair!
A recent fad, the Lithe Method burns fat and sculpts muscle in record time. Based on the mantra, “Fit, Hip and Healthy,” the Philly-based total body workout strives to bring originality to staying active. The class combines the Lithe custom Cardio/Cheer Sculpting Technique, power band system, signature Barre work, and strength training with light equipment into one eclectic workout. Set to music mixed by one of Lithe’s own trainers, the class promises quick, amazing results for total toning. Lauren Boggi (her blog can be found here), the former college cheerleader turned Lithe Method founder, constantly strives to develop new moves for the studio’s members. The three locations scattered around Philadelphia boast over 30 evolving classes.
Because the fitness trainers at Lithe anticipate many newcomers to classes, they have created a 3-week 6-class progressive immersion course ($150). Participation in these classes involves an online reservation process due to its growing popularity. For those that fear the commitment required of the immersion course, another lighter class aptly titled Lithe 101 is offered. These classes are tailored to members with a background in pilates, yoga, or dance. Even though both of these classes are entry level courses, the instructors at Lithe Studios promise that they are not too easy!
The Lithe Studio also offers a line called Lithe Foods, containing lean, local, and mostly vegan meals and snacks. Its instructors believe that Lithe is a “lifestyle, not just a workout.” A band of nutritionists worked together to design a smarter diet, aimed to reduce cravings and maximize energy levels. Clients can also choose to be supplied with a 3-day 100% vegab detix plan ($225) that contains an energy-packed, mostly liquid diet.
If you’re looking for a new, intense workout to try, head over to Lithe’s Rittenhouse Studio at 255 S. 17th St (corner of 17th St. and Locust). At $20 a pop, the class costs more than your average day at Pottruck, but the results definitely pay off.
Until July 22nd, head over to LivingSocial to purchase two Lithe 101 classes, three Lithe fitness classes, and one Lithe Foods juice for $39!
