Don’t Be Afraid to ASK– The Studio C.L.’s Launch Party

Rumor was the place to be Sunday night! Cindy and I were pretty nervous to cover this event, but we realized right as we walked in the door that we were a part of Philly’s next big beauty breakthrough.

Artur Kirsh, owner of The Studio C.L. (On 19th St. between Walnut and Chestnut), threw this extravagant launch party to introduce his new product line, ASK. The man behind the inspiring creations we saw live at the party has worked with celebrities such as Celine Dion and the Victoria’s Secret Angels. Even People magazine referred to this Philadelphia beauty expert as “the secret weapon for celebrities and socialites.” He started the trend of using the “dry-cutting method” on hair to better visualize the desired shape, a phenomenon that took off in the city. We had the privilege of covering this exclusive party because despite his busy schedule, Artur contributed his time as one of the stylists for Penn’s own fashion show last Friday and invited us to witness his new career move.

The new ASK line was inspired by the correlation of his initials with the word “ask.” Artur wanted customers to be curious about the creation of this line and to approach him with questions on why they should use it. The line contained three hair products: “Hold”, “Hair Rescue”, and “Shiny.” “Hair Rescue”, a leave-in therapy meant to repair hair damage and seal broken ends, is the only product available for purchase currently ($18). With a logo designed by his young son, Artur wanted to convey his passion for philanthropy involving childhood diabetes. $1 from each product is collected towards charity. The event Sunday was also for charity, meant to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) through the raffle sales of exclusive baskets of products, concert tickets, and autographed items.

In order to give an interactive launch to his new product ASK, Artur Kirsh gave attendees a backstage pass at the making of a live fashion show.  The concept of the party correlated with the theme of the product;  potential customers should ASK about what they are investing in just like they should ASK about what goes on behind the scenes.  Both Cindy and I, along with the rest of the guests, were lucky enough to see Artur style the models’ hair and other specialists do their make-up before they went out on the catwalk.  Models were also spread throughout the club as we anxiously awaited the show,  photographed in different rooms like they would in a professional fashion shoot, which really helped to engage all of the guests.

After we chatted with the man behind the magic, Artur led us behind the ropes to take pictures up close as the models strutted their stuff.  The hairstyles and colored extensions added were visionary, popping beneath the bright lights and disco balls.  Friends and family eagerly watched from the sidelines, while models posed for the flashing cameras. If knowing you could look just as good as these ladies doesn’t get you hooked on these newly-launched products, we don’t know what will. Next time you are in need of a professional cut, head over to The Studio C.L. and get to know this man personally because he truly sets the bar for Philadelphia’s upcoming trends.
