Yes friends, it is real. Twilight it being made into a musical. Lord help us.
Thankfully however, it is going to be a parody and will only be airing off broadway for one night.
Still have the bitter taste in your mouth about it? Well have no fear, the whole thing is being done for a charity called, Blessings in a Backpack, an organization that works to make sure elementary school children from low-income families are fed on the weekends.
Trust me, this is the only shining light in this whole fiasco.
According to the show’s website, “Twilight: The Musical is a parody of the Twilight saga in the vein of Urinetown and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Twilight: The Musical examines our culture of obsession through the story of teenage outsider Bella Swan who risks everything when she embarks on a star-crossed romance with Vampire Edward Cullen.”
Like we really needed more Twilight in our lives. It seems likes it is trying to be the next A Very Potter Musical and hopefully it will succeed with a songs like, “Death never sounded so good” and “Life sucks when your boyfriend is a vampire”.
So the burning question still remains, Team Edward or Team Jacob?
A reading of ‘Twilight: The Musical,’ will happen on Jan. 16 at 8 p.m at New World Stages in New York City.
