Exploring the Blogosphere

Blogging has become the new “It” thing to do – whether you’re on Tumblr, Blogspot, Lookbook, or even have your own website. Our own features editor even has a food blog called Live to Eat.

But, with all of the amateur personal blogs and began-but-abandoned blogs, it’s often hard to sift through the outrageous amount of stuff just floating about the Internet to find the true, quality blogs. That’s what I, Grace Guan, am here to help you out with. Here are my top 3…

1) Garance Doré (http://www.garancedore.fr/en/). Originally a fashion illustrator (I love her style and line quality – click here to view more of her illustrations!), Garance’s blog is always filled with beautiful photographs taken by herself accompanied by adorable little blurbs about her life (haphazardly translated from French to English for our reading pleasures). Also, for those of you who have heard of The Sartorialist, these two amazing bloggers/photographers are dating! Which leads me to my next blog…

2) The Sartorialist (http://www.thesartorialist.com/). Scott Schuman, aka “The Sartorialist”, has been a major blogger since 2005. Constantly traveling from place to place, Schuman specializes in street fashion – taking photos of stylish people on the streets of New York, Milan, Florence, Paris, and countless other cities.

3) Sea of Shoes (http://seaofshoes.com/). Jane Aldridge, who styles herself and models for most of her blog photos, began Sea of Shoes when she was only 15 years old. It probably helps that her mom, Judy Aldridge, was a model-turned-fashion-blogger as well.

And there you have it! Enough to keep you busy for at least a little bit. Though each of these blogs has its own definitive style and flair, they’re all fan favorites. It’s always therapeutic for me to look through a couple pages of gorgeous, stylish stuff when I’m taking a break from studying for midterms (can Fall Break come any slower?!). Hope you love them as much as I do!
