After five days of listening to glamorous speakers and schmoozing with the best of the best in the fashion and retail industry, Penn Fashion Week culminated in one jaw-dropping event, the spring fashion show. Reverie presented by DZINE2SHOW, attracted a huge crowd, filling almost every seat for both show times. Upon entering, show goers were photographed on a “red carpet” and discovered ways to embrace their inner “fashionistas” with informational booths run by Rent the Runway and Ann Taylor campus representatives. The actual pièce de résistance, the show, featured twenty-five student models, showcasing the latest from Ann Taylor, Brooklyn Industries, Commonwealth Proper, Madewell, Michael Kors, Omnipeace, Smak Parlour and Ubiq. In addition to the established boutiques and brand names displayed at the start of the show, fifteen student designers sent their pieces down the runway. If that’s not impressive enough, eight of the designers sewed their entire collections including Blaine Beshah (VP, Fashion Show) and Lisa Zheng (VP, Marketing). From the exclamations after the show, it seemed clear that the crowd all agreed to the fact that they didn’t know there was that much talent on campus!
