The Walk got VIP passes to the fabulous world of Philly Fashion Week from February 24-26 at Cranes Art Building . Sitting in prime seats in front of the runway, we got the firsthand scoop on what Philly’s finest designers are putting out this season. Each of the seven collections in the Ready-to-Wear show put 15-20 men’s and women’s looks down the runway ranging from casual day attire to evening ball gowns. The night was filled with bright floral’s, drop crotch pants, and spring furs. Hemlines from floor length to high thigh were present in the versatile runway collections. The student designer collection, Faithful was a house favorite.
Afterwards, we were able to talk to the founders of Philly Fashion Week, Kevin Parker and Kerry Scott. They brought Philly Fashion Week to life in 2007 being the first to produce a full week of fashion events in the city of Philadelphia. In their own words, “It is our vision to not only provide exposure to local and national models, designers and all those industry inclined, but to continue to be a nationally recognized and respected event”. Maybe one day Philly Fashion Week will be on par with New York and Milan Fashion Week!
