After a week of papers, midterms and pre-spring break anxiety; a manicure is just the thing to make any day brighter. This past Wednesday (March 2), The Hall of Flags in Houston Hall was transformed into a pink salon. Several pink tables were adorned with all the necessities for a perfect manicure and lighthearted music played from the front of the room. The event “Manicure for the Cure” was a fundraiser to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Sharsheret. Both are nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting breast cancer research and raising awareness about breast cancer. For $15, women received manicures from licensed manicurists, opportunities to learn about the different organizations and adorable gift bags with OPI nail polish, Philosophy face wash and other girly goodies. This was a perfect event to kick-start spring break and get pampered, all for a great cause.
