This fall, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, the minds behind Proenza Schouler, designed a collection with a schoolgirl feel. But, you wouldn’t see any ordinary prepster sporting their edgy apparel – the toggle jackets, the high-rise jeans (a collaboration with J-Brand!), and the baby doll dresses were tweaked with a serious grunge attitude. Details such as graffiti print, unconventional fur lining, and leather elbow patches brought these classic preppy silhouettes to a new level of intelligence. Who says edginess can’t be elegant?
