Have you ever felt the need to effectively punch someone? Then Body Combat is for you. I left Dalglish’s Body Combat class feeling like I could really take someone down if need be. A mix of Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi, and Muay Thai, his class was filled with kicks, punches, and fierce exclamations of “Hayaa!” resulting in a sense of empowerment and rejuvenation.
This class is a great way to switch things up if you’re feeling a little burned out and sick of your typical elliptical or treadmill workout. Time flies, and you get great strength training thrown into the mix by using your own body resistance when performing the routines. With my heart rate mostly in its mid range throughout the class except for some high-intensity intervals, I definitely broke a good sweat by the end of this class. It takes a few classes to get the hang of the moves so that the full conditioning benefit is met, but I would definitely recommend this class to those who are already in pretty good shape and looking to try something new.
